The NJ Waterfront: Your Ultimate Summer Destination + Ferry to NYC

The NJ Waterfront: Your Ultimate Summer Destination + Ferry to NYC

The Macy's 4th of July fireworks were back on the Hudson River for the first time in a decade, making the NJ waterfront the epicenter for front-row seats to vibrant fireworks reflecting off the magnificent mirrored skyscrapers of NYC.

Why NJ Waterfront is an Excellent Summer Destination:

  • Liberty State Park: Perfect for a day adventure with panoramic views of Manhattan on or off land. Cruise on the Hudson over to Liberty Island and experience an infinite amount of unique perspectives of lady liberty + Ellis Island tour.  (there are even restaurants on the island).

    Amazing Art Pieces + History:
Liberty State Park was our greatest inspiration this trip

  • The "Empty Sky" memorial sculpture honors the 749 New Jersey residents who perished in the 9/11 attacks. This powerful installation includes actual steel beams from the World Trade Center.

  • With in the Immigration center: a string-woven American Flag is a unique art installation that symbolizes unity and resilience. Crafted from numerous threads, this intricate piece showcases the American flag in a vibrant and dynamic form.

  • The original torch and face mold of the Statue of Liberty within the museum.

  • Street Art Surprises: Jersey City’s street art scene never disappoints, with gems like the classic Obey Giant by Shepard Fairey popping up in unexpected places.

Sunset Magic: Witness the sun setting on the iconic skyscrapers, casting stunning reflections into the Hudson River.

  • Walkable Waterfront: Enjoy plenty of parks and walkways offering gorgeous waterfront views. (DM for list of parks if interested)

Easy Ferry Ride to NYC:

  • Port Imperial to Midtown W39th street: For $10 each way it's an enjoyable 15-minute cruise that drops you off on the west side of NYC, making city access a breeze. We took the ferry in for dinner and then jawdropping rooftop views of The Empire State Building doned in red white and blue for the 4th of July.

Must-Try Eats:

  • La Pupusa Loca: If you find yourself on the "Miracle Mile" Bergenline Ave, this spot is super delicious and authentic.

Grand Finale: Waterfront Views Unmatched

  • Fireworks from NJ Waterfront: For the ultimate fireworks experience, head to a water view park. The reflections of the fireworks off mirrored buildings and the Hudson River are simply unforgettable.
Suggested spots: Jersey City, Hoboken, Boulevard East, Union City,
    West New York, NJ.
