The Heart of Woodstock: Tinker Street
Tinker Street is Woodstock’s vibrant main drag, and while it’s less than a mile long, it full of character. Lined with local shops, galleries, and restaurants, it’s a treasure trove of creativity and culture. A welcoming place to call home during your stay is Twin Gables, a tastefully re-designed 1880s Inn with curated art and music themed rooms.
Delightful Eats
Dinner at Cucina in a restored farmhouse was the culinary highlight of our trip. A contemporary Italian restaurant with locally sourced ingredients by Chef Gianni Scappin. We also ventured 10 miles away to Kensington NY for a meal with a college friend and ended up at Front Street Tavern, welcoming cozy atmosphere with "elevated" bar foods, and an excellent staff.
Music, Movies, and More
Woodstock's artistic roots run deep, creativity happens any day of the week. We caught a Sunday screening of Bob Dylan's "A Complete Unknown" at the iconic Tinker Street Theater. Followed by Monday open mic night at the Colony, where there was no shortage of local talent.

It's a worthy accomplishment. The abandoned hotel from 1875 at the summit was a forgotten surprise, felt like stumbling on a casual archaeological dig.
The fire tower is open and climbable. The foggy freeze of the day added to the drama, with sweeping views as of the mountains and valleys.
